It is no coincidence that the return of the Charlotte Hornets will take place on Meck Dec Day!
On May 20th in 1775 a committee of citizens in Mecklenburg county were believed to be the first group of individuals within the 13 colonies to sign a document declaring independence from England.
On this very day 239 years later a movement created by this same city finally reclaims it’s identity, and as a result we have a……REVOLUTION REBORN!
The Charlotte Bobcats officially change their name next Tuesday on May 20th. This is also the anniversary of the Mecklenburg Deceleration of Independence!
They will also be streaming the entire event live on Hornets.com (which will also be launching the same day.)
